Happy Mother's Day!

I have two new great news to share this morning.
Firstly,... wishing my Mother a very Happy Mother's Day. And what better way to wish her, than to have her featured on Etsy's "This Handmade Blog"!! This is a picture of me with her when I was only 10 months old.

Charan of creativewithclay: "When I was a kid my mom ran a boutique store in India specializing in clothes for brides and bridesmaids. She dragged me along whenever she needed help. I never really enjoyed doing the billing or taking orders for dyeing fabric, etc., but she told me to just do it and there will be something I will gain from it. What fascinated me was the color in fabric and helping people choose matching or contrasting colors for their outfits. I enjoyed helping them decide what embroidery designs to pick and working with tailors to give them new ideas and patterns."

Secondly,... I am the winner of the teapot challenge on the Etsy Mud Team

Bowl Exchange

On the Etsy Mud Team, we had bowl exchange. Participating members make bowls and exchange them with other randomly chosen members. I just received this real fun wee bowl from Rebecca of kwaraw.etsy.com

I love the way it feels in my hand and you can't see in the picture but the outside of the bowl is textured so well.

So glad to be part of such a talented team.

Stamp Exchange

I have done mug exchanges and bowl exchanges in the past which have always been fun. This is the first time I participated in a stamp exchange. All the participating members of the Etsy Mud Team were to make stamps that could be used on clay. The stamps could be made of material of choice. What is so exciting about a stamp exchange is that it is one person's art work incorporated in yours. The stamp maker might make a stamp with a certain usuage in mind. The person receiving the stamp might use it in a different way. Whatever the case may be, it is fun to be surprised.

I was extremely thrilled to receive my stamps today. I got two beautiful busqued stamps from Pearl of Fehustoneware. She has some awesome work in her shop and I cannot wait to use the stamps to create something.

The other set of stamps was a big surprise. I got 6 stamps from Charity of chARiTyelise. Not only that but three of those have different deisgns on each side. So that it is a total of 9 STAMPS!! Interestingly two of the stamps are made of rubber with immense detail. There are other potters who have mentioned that Charity and I should have a competition in patience with our designs, but she wins!!! I can't wait to use these. I am also going to try carving some of my own rubber stamps.
